Cost Rica
January 9 - 21, 2003 were marvelous fun-filled days for First Supply and more
than 450 of their customers and vendors who traveled to scenic Costa Rica.
Customers traveled with First Supply's World of Opportunity incentive program,
which gave them the ability to earn a one-of-a-kind adventure by purchasing products
from First Supply and their participating vendors.
Sunny skies and 90-degree temperatures, welcomed the charter flights when they
arrived at Liberia's airport in Costa Rica. That evening, guests were treated to
a splendid buffet on the beach with live music, dancing, and a local art & craft bizarre!
First Supply customers were guests of the magnificent all-inclusive Paradisus
Playa Conchal Hotel, featured as "Worlds Best" in 2001 by Resorts & Great Hotels
Magazine. Hotel amenities included: the challenging "Garra de Leon" 18-hole golf
course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, oversized suites with lavish bathrooms,
daily organized sports activities at the largest free-form swimming pool in
Central America with a swim up bar and Jacuzzi. Spectacular dining included 4
restaurants with different cuisines, plus a popular quick snack eatery serving
pizza, pasta, and rotisserie chicken to go. The popular disco and casino were
favorites in the evening when it was time to kick back and continue the fun.
The Paradisus Playa Conchal is located in Guanacaste on the Pacific coast of
Costa Rica. This area is known as the dry forest region. The deep-sea fishing is
great in this area and several guests even caught eight-foot sailfish. Another
activity enjoyed by First Supply guests was a popular "Canopy Tour", where guest
harnessed themselves at the treetops, ready to fly down suspended cables. Wild
Howler Monkeys were in our company during a part of the tour as well. Horseback
riding, ATV 4-wheeler riding, sunset sailing and snorkeling, hot springs and a
tour to the Arenal Volcano were among the other adventures enjoyed by many during
the weeklong trip.
After a brief orientation tour of the local cities of Flamingo and Tamarindo
on their first full day, guests had ample time to shop, swim, play volleyball,
relax, and any of the hundreds of things to do at the hotel and the surrounding
area. A special "Vendor Appreciation Night" event was held for 4 nights where
customers had time to visit with Reps. of companies such as, Moen, Wirsbo,
Flexcon, Well Mate, Jacuzzi Pumps, Gastite, Little Giant, Red Jacket, Delta,
Wirsbo, Oatey, Hercules and Infiltrator. First Supply extends a special thank
you to the 10 Reps. who helped make this trip extraordinary.
"Mardi Gras in Costa Rica" was the theme for a fun contest for First Supply
customers. The object was to collect the most Mardi Gras Beads during their stay
in Costa Rica. During special events, a string of beads was handed out to all
who attended. At the end of the week, the guest with the most beads won a trip
for 2 to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.
The last night in Costa Rica went off with a bang! Fireworks started the
evening as guests settled in at the hilltop convention center that overlooked
the pool & ocean. The views were amazing. Our farewell party included a show
where the forest came alive with dance and music, along with a delicious buffet
dinner. Dancing and partying continued into the night.
