2000 World of Opportunity
Rome, Italy
October 11 - 17, 2000 were extra special days for the 81 people who traveled to
Rome, Italy with World of Opportunity. The group included couples from 25 contractors,
four vendors, and a handful of First Supply employees.
Guests stayed at the beautiful Hotel Excelsior, right in the heart of the city.
Within walking distance of the hotel were several marvelous sights, including the
Villa Borghese, a picturesque park filled with ponds and statuary, churches filled
with marble masterpieces, and an unusual church with a crypt made entirely from the
bones of 4000 monks!
While in Rome our guests were treated to many of the beautiful sights of the
"Eternal City." The Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Circus Maximus were among
the first stops made. Rome is also filled with beautiful sculptures and fountains.
Our guests had the chance to visit the famous Trevi Fountain. Legend has it, if
you toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, it ensures your return to Rome.
One of the many highlights of the joinery was a day trip to Florence, Italy.
While in Florence, guests visited the national Academy Art Museum. This museum
is home to Michelangelo's famous statue of David.
A trip to Rome would not have been complete without a visit to the Sistine
Chapel and the Vatican Museums. The Sistine Chapel serves as the Pope's private
chapel and is most famous for Michelangelo's fresco painting, entitled "Creation,"
which is painted on the barrel-shaped vaulted ceiling.
We would like to thank everyone who made this World of Opportunity trip to
Rome a journey to remember for all who went!
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
During mid January 2001 nearly 500 First Supply customers waved good bye to the
cold and snow and headed for the tropical paradise of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Our
guests were treated to a week filled with sunshine and sandy beaches on this World
of Opportunity adventure.
Puerto Vallarta is a fantastic vacation spot with something for everyone. Guests
stayed and the beautiful Fiesta Americana hotel with its sweeping view of the ocean.
On the first night they celebrated in true Mexican fashion - with a fiesta including
dancing and a Mariachi band!
After being oriented to this fascinating city, guests were left to explore at
their own pace. Many enjoyed activities like horseback riding, deep-sea fishing,
parasailing and every go-carts! Several guests also went on dolphin and whale
watching expeditions in the beautiful bay. This is a favorite spot for dolphins,
manta rays, and the huge humpback whales to stay during winter months.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this trip
possible, especially our customers and our vendor sponsors.
